Service requests are not required for dead trees on public property. Every tree on a boulevard or in open spaces except in natural and naturalized areas is assessed once every 2 years. To complete the biennial assessment, dead trees are only assessed on a request basis if the tree of concern poses an imminent risk to people or property or if the tree is showing visible signs of Dutch elm disease or emerald ash borer.
